I know I haven’t written anything for the past couple of
weeks, but that is partly because my internet hasn’t been working. So I had to
call the local guys a bunch of times, and it seemed like borderline stalking,
but they deserved it. In the end, they finally set things straight before
screwing things up again, but enough of redundancy.
The other reason why I haven’t written anything is because I’m
lazy. Okay, not a great excuse – Because I’ve had too much on my plate? It is
true though – Had my presentation about 3 weeks ago that me and now, my former
intern friend had to give (We were dressed in suits, awkwardly I might add,
while people asked us why we were in suits). Anyway, so finally after giving our
presentation, Alex, the friendly American superhero left for North Korea for a
couple of days to fight the notorious leader, and then successfully returned to
Japan. Hey, I’m not the one who made that up!
For me, it has been a hectic and hard – to – believe couple
of weeks. To start things off, we had a beer night at the office, and it was
completely free. Needless to say I had a great time, but the real excitement
started afterwards. I purchased tickets to the New Japan Pro Wrestling show in
Tokyo, which was my very first live wrestling event to see some of the biggest
names in Japanese wrestling. As fate would have it, AJ Styles made his debut on
that same night and I freaked out, breaking a couple of Japanese laws while
throwing a fandom – fit. Okay, maybe I wasn’t THAT excited, but I was happier
than Dora finding her rendezvous at the very beginning of the episode.

I can’t believe I only have two more weeks left in Japan. A
part of me can’t wait to go back home, while a bigger part of me doesn’t want
to leave. This place has been amazing, and I’m putting it mildly. The people I’ve
met, things I’ve seen and the experiences I’ve had cannot be summed up in
words. This place has provided me with the much needed escape and inspiration
that I so desperately needed, and the thought of leaving Japan upsets me. Also, I've had some bad news coming in this week, but I won't be indulging any of that in this post. It's kind of personal and irrelevant, but that's kind of the week it has been.
Anyway, so last week, someone I hadn’t met before approached
me in the office and handed me a wrestling magazine. I’m known as the guy who’s
mad about pro wrestling in the company, and apparently everyone knows it.
Anyway, so I was breezing through the pages when I saw that some of my favorite
wrestlers were coming to Japan. So, this past Saturday, I went to Tokyo once
again for yet another pro wrestling show, and I had an amazing time cheering
for some of the biggest independent wrestlers in the world. To top it, I got to
meet them and talk to them, along with taking a photo that honestly puts me to
shame, but I didn’t care. The wrestling fan in me was too excited to think
about anything else.

So now here I am, sleepy and excited. I’ll finish my blog entry
here as I’ve been muddled with work, and I’m sleep deprived. I’ll fill in some
more by the end of the week, as I plan to go to Kyoto on Friday. Will keep
everyone updated regarding my trip and how it went.
